Frist, Overall situation of China’s mining machinery market
According to the statistics of the Mining Machinery Branch of China Construction Machinery Industry Association, the sales of 25 mainframe manufacturing enterprises that were included in the club statistics from January to July 2018 are shown in the following table. From January to July, the sales volume was 131,246 units, a year-on-year increase of more than 50%, and the market continued to grow at a high rate. The average tonnage has increased substantially, indicating that the market share of medium and large digging has increased. 2. Domestic market brand structure
From January to July 2018, domestic, Japanese, European, American and Korean brands sold 65,106, 20,572, 19,016 and 15,798, respectively, with market share of 54.0%, 17.1%, 15.8%, and 13.1%, respectively. Sany, Xugong and Caterpillar occupy the top three in the domestic market. 3. Domestic market product structure
From January to July 2018, domestic sales of large digging, medium digging and small digging were 18043, 32299 and 70150 respectively, with market shares of 15.0%, 26.8% and 58.2% respectively. Less than 6 tons of micro-excavation and small digging in the range of 6 to 13 tons account for about half of the domestic market share. From the changes in sales of different specifications, the sales of large digging, medium digging and small digging increased by 7391, 14004 and 21283 units, an increase of 69.4%, 76.5% and 43.6% respectively. Judging from the changes in product structure in the past three years, the recovery of large digging and medium digging is significant, and the market share of small digging has declined slightly.
4. Domestic market concentration
From January to July 2018, the domestic mining machinery market concentration CR4=53.9, CR8=77.7, and the market concentration in June was the same. 5. Domestic market distribution
From January to July 2018, the sales volume of excavation machinery in the eastern, central and western regions was 38,513, 38,006 and 43,973, respectively, with year-on-year increases of 60.0%, 60.9% and 46.0% respectively.
From January to July 2018, the sales of excavation machinery in East China, Southwest China, Central China, Northwest China, North China, South China and Northeast China were 38404, 24063, 20253, 12543, 12147, 9447 and 3635 respectively, up 56.9%, 45.3% and 67.0% respectively. 51.0%, 51.7%, 62.3% and 43.8%.
6. Average hours worked
Hours of operation are one of the important indicators to measure the construction needs of excavation machinery and determine the future development of the industry. According to experience, the breakeven points of large excavation, medium excavation and small excavation are: 2500~3000 hours/year, 2000~2500 hours/year, 1500 hours/year. When construction demand exceeds the break-even point, market demand will increase significantly.
According to the survey and statistics of the excavation machinery branch, the number of hours of excavation machinery attendance increased in 2017 compared with the previous year, and the trend of operation in 2018 is worthy of continuous attention. According to the data released by Komatsu’s official website, the changes in the average hours of operation of Komatsu construction machinery in the past three years are basically consistent with the survey statistics of the club. The increase in the average number of hours of operation of the equipment reflects the increase in downstream demand and provides solid support for market demand.

In the context of the global economic recovery, the export market has doubled.
